AdAid would not be possible without the support of the Community Initiatives Fund and Child Youth and Family Services . It is targeted to health and welfare social service providers in its first year.

Welcome to AdAid

AdAid is an exciting inititative that enables Non-Profit Organisations access to pro-bono creative talent and media exposure. Previously the domain of a few charitable organisations, AdAid will make pro-bono design and advertising available to all those who provide services to the social sector.

You can seek pro-bono help through AdAid by filling out a creative briefing form. This will explain to advertising agencies and media owners why you need help in putting together and running an advertising or public relations campaign, revitalising your corporate identity or creating a website. It is the first step in establishing a relationship with a creative partner.

Once your brief has been selected by a creative provider they will be able to contact you to ask for more information and introduce themsleves and the work can begin! You will have the opportunity for final approval of all material, including prior to us posting any completed work on the AdAid site. If you wish, you can edit the brief you have on system and indicate that it is “being worked upon already”, or even remove the brief altogether so that other creative suppliers don’t pick up the brief. Alternatively, until you have a final agreed solution, you may wish to leave the brief still ‘live’ such that others are able to add to the process (as all ideas are welcome!).

In the unlikely event you not approving what has been created for you, AdAid will be happy to mediate and ensure both parties can move on positively.

For Non-Profits who feel they need help with the basics - such as getting thier name and branding right before they start creating a campaign - we'll offer free 101 clinics throughout the year.

As follows is the 101 clinic checklist – if you can answer these questions then you’re ready to log-in and go straight onto the creative briefing form.

101 clinic checklist

Are you already registered on the Robin Hood Foundation database? if not – click here- it will take you approximately 10 minutes. If you are already registered on the Robin Hood Database then check the following.

Is the name you’re currently operating under likely to remain the same or change? A well thought out campaign can often call into question the relevance of an organisations name. For example, Domestic Violence Centre has recently become Preventing Violence in the Home, encompassing new logo and identity.

Does your board agree on the objectives for an advertising campaign. These can include raising awareness of the issue, raising funds, calling for volunteers etc.

Are you sure you know what you want the website to be able to do? Is it just to tell your story or perhaps to raise funds? Or perhaps to get others to register to get involved?

If you’re not sure about any of these, then you will risk writing a brief that is unclear and quickly out of date.

To avoid this happening, contact us if you would like to reserve a place on out 101 clinic briefing for the not for profit sector on how you can be part of AdAid. These will be run throughout the year on a demand basis in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.
